A native Texan, Zackary grew up in a family that held a true love and passion for horses, he attended his first rodeo at just two weeks old and was taking riding lessons by the time he was three. This love led him to show Arabian horses for over 15 years and he competed in many equestrian events over the years. Additionally, this passion led him to move to Weatherford, Texas the ‘cutting horse’ capital.

His summer jobs consisted of training under a world-renowned Arabian horse halter trainer. Here Zackary found himself learning the difficulties, intricacies, and logistics of helping manage a 55-horse show barn. He learned to work with difficult horses. From stallions that would try to kick, bite, strike, and even try to run him over, to putting halters on weanlings for the first time. Zackary grew his knowledge about horse nutrition and began managing feeding and conditioning programs for the horses.

Zackary also discovered a love of hunting, at the young age of 11, when he went on his first hunting trip and was introduced to an appreciation for wildlife, and the joys and rewards of hunting. From that day, Zackary developed a strong interest in the hunting industry. He increased his knowledge of the whitetail species, nutrition, range management, and international hunting practices. He attended hunting conventions, where he met hunting outfitters from around the world.

This knowledge would lead him to an exciting position on the King Ranch starting in 2015 when he was offered a position as a hunting guide on 17,000 acres of the King Ranch. He successfully guided numerous quail, nilgai, turkey, dove, feral pig, management whitetail, and trophy whitetail hunts. In addition, he managed an individual plant treatment (IPT) program to add in the reclamation of wildlife habitat. He aided in the management programs for whitetail deer, quail, turkey, and nilgai antelope.

Zackary’s interest in business management developed grew. His mother, Katy, instilled in him the importance of a good education and strong work ethic. His father, LeRoy, taught him the importance of money management, leadership, people skills, and best business practices. He attended seminars of John C. Maxwell and Dave Ramsey and read books on leadership, investments, innovation, marketing, and sales.
